Am I selling myself? (That’s also a title, not a question, but also a question, I guess)
This installation developed out of an open call at the KL8 gallery in Brussels and shows me playing with the ways that institutional language and art-world expectations try to channel the ways you can talk about yourself and therefor construct your own identity. I try to be playful and insecure within application documents that are supposed to be places where you appear confident and put your best foot forward. Listen to the audio—-taken from the meeting two of the curators had to determine whether to include my work in the show--to hear how this self-presentation was interpreted and eventually accepted in the context of their exhibition about how value is produced in the art world.
