This work was produced as part of a collaborative storytelling project and installation in which the different participants embodied gods in a collective discussion around the frustrations these gods felt with the irresponsible choices humans had made. My contribution as Gaia was this piece of music reflecting my emotions as I walked along roads surrounding Warrior Met Coal, a coal mine in Alabama that was in the midst of one of the longest strikes in US history at the time. The mine was also facing many allegations that they allowed runoff from mining to leach into local waterways. There have been various advances in the environmental struggle against the coal industry in Alabama, though the miner's strike ended with no new deal in early 2023.
